Well my name is Shahab. I have a bachelor in Informatics from IFI,university of Oslo, and now a master student in Robotics and Intelligent Systems(ROBIN group). Right now I am working full time beside my studies. I am writing my master thesis now and taking some additional courses which gives me a better understanding of the robotics world.
My master thesis, as this whole weblog is about, is a climbing robot. A climbing robot that can climb the walls and walk on the roof. The final aim of Walloid is to be a prototype for a real world model that can replace human workers, where it is too dangerous for mankind to operate. The actual thought was to make a water proof, swimming robot as a candidate for oil fields in the middle of the sea; a monitoring robot which can swim between paltforms, checks on oil pipes on the sea path and even maybe fix some
problems.
As a student at UiO, I am also the deputy of the robotics studnet club at univeristy of Oslo, which is called Robotica Osloensis.
